Pepsi going under the knife again

Poor Pepsi has had a growth / lump on his back between his shoulders for a few months now and at his last check up we asked about it and whether it would need attention. The vet asked if it was troubling him – subsequently suggested that it is probably best to leave it alone given his age and the fact that it wasn’t giving him any agro.

Well, last weekend we walked into the kitchen to find a reasonable amount of blood on the floor – we hurried around trying to find where it had all come from – it seemed that the dopey sod had scratched it and consequently it bled.

It hasn’t got any better as the week has progressed so we took him in to have his claws clipped and the lump checked. The vet shaved the area to find that it (the lump) has grown quite a bit since it was last checked and sadly it is weeping puss – hence it stinks – definitely a significant source of smell from the old lad πŸ™

Anyway, we debated the pros and cons and realised that the best course of action was to take him in and have it removed – he is only going to keep scratting at it and causing it to bleed etc – plus there’s the awful smell πŸ™‚

So, he is booked in for Monday – let’s hope it all goes to plan and he comes out feeling sleepy but less smelly….

Fun in the garden on Elliot’s birthday

P1050476

As can be seen, the kids had a ball yesterday afternoon at Elliot’s birthday tea at home. Gracie, Jessica and Euan came from school to celebrate with us along with Carys from Oliver’s class and Tyler came as well.

Mummy baked a super cool cake for Elliot that had a super surprise – it was filled inside with smarties πŸ™‚

The evening ended with daddy being run around playing football in the garden – he was shattered at the end πŸ™ unfit or something…

The weeks are just slipping by….

Already we are in September, the nights are drawing in and the boys are back to school.

This weekend we enjoyed a relaxing home day on Saturday which while nice, culminated in the boys literally destroying their bedrooms and the toy room AND the conservatory as pieces of LEGO and other toys were spread somewhat evenly around those locations πŸ™

On Sunday we got up early for our swimming lesson to find (just after we had arrived at the swimming pool AND got changed) that the lesson today was cancelled πŸ™ Oh well, it forced us up and out early on a Sunday morning. Β SO, we popped the bikes on the back of the car and head out to do a little shopping – the bikes would get used AFTER as Olly has been hounding us to go out on his bike all week long. We needed to collect a few last items of Elliot for school (gum shield, shin pads and a photograph frame) as well as nip to IKEA (frightening prospect for weekend!) as it is time for both of them to have refreshed bedroom furniture and where better than IKEA for the necessary ideas etc. Hopefully we will look to order something during the week or maybe next weekend and will arrange for the goods to be delivered to home – saves the horrific scenario of collecting etc in store….

Sadly, the bike ride in Newmillerdam did not go as well as we thought it might with lots of mud, water and falls. Guess they need more practice before going somewhere that also has things to look at – i.e. looking in the wrong direction and falling off the bike happened on multiple occasions for the little grenade.

Also, this weekend has demonstrated Olly’s constant need to have the last word and answer back… grrr.. this one needs sorting out – welcome back reward charts….
