Great day out at the Raging Waters Water Park in San Jose, CA

We got there an hour or so before lunch and just in time to see the “neighbour” (cabana next door) taking “our” sun lounger.  Then, when Simon suggested that she ought not to be taking the lounger, apparently it was Simon who was being rude 🙂 Oh well, that soon got forgotten about, and we had 5 fun hours in the water and sun.

Typically, Elliot fell in the water on the first slide – didn’t go back on it 🙁  But he soon forgot about the water issue and played for hours in the park.

We had a great time, with Oliver having played for such a long time that he fell asleep in Vicky’s arms during the day !!! Anyone who knows Olly, knows that this is unheard of !!!

The countdown is on for Maui….. 10 days…… 🙂 🙂

Kerrie arrived

We went out on the bikes first thing this morning, then out to Palo Alto for lunch and to buy mummy her new Apple MacBook Air – we bought a 13″ model – very nice 🙂

We then went to Malibu Castle with the boys to play – it is an electronics arcade in Redwood City (just off 101) where most of the ‘games’ offer an opportunity to win paper based tokens that can be traded in for prizes when you are ready to leave.  We spent about an hour in there, and “won” two bags of marbles…. 🙂

Then, at 5pm we collected Kerri from the airport – the flight was about an hour late unfortuantely.

We have enjoyed a Papa John’s BBQ Chicken / Bacon pizza and a bottle of red 🙂

The boys actually went to sleep pretty well last night and slept right through – let’s just hope it stays this way for the next few weeks 🙂

Vicky has booked a cabana at Raging Waters (water park in San Jose) for tomorrow so we are hoping to have a great day in the sunshine….

Daddy’s home

Daddy has been out in a Ski resort called Deer Park near Pak City in Utah (Salt Lake City is the nearest big city) although there is no snow there at the time of the year.  It has been the company’s annual corporate kick off event and a sales and technical enablement event to boot.  So Daddy left home on Tuesday morning early and got back this afternoon, in time for late lunch out.

We are expecting a visitor tomorrow who will be staying with us for around three weeks, so we have moved Olly into Elly’s bedroom – Olly is MEGA excited about sleeping in Elly’s room – Elly is not so sure yet – think he likes having his own room.  They have been up there just 15 minutes at this point and they are chatting away – something tells us that they are not going to be getting to sleep any time soon 🙁

Mummy has decided that an Apple MacBook Air might be a good idea after all, so we will go and buy one on the way to the airport to collect Kerrie.  Then on Sunday, we are heading to the San Jose water park – Vicky has booked a cabana so we will be lording it up all day long 🙂

Simon has also made a pretty big decision (Vicky in full support) this week that will unfold over the next few weeks so this is a little exciting, and a little worrying all at the same time – more on this subject in good time… 🙂

HOME :-)

So, it took just over 6 1/2 hours to get home from Santa Barbara 🙁  There was some form of traffic issue just south of Gilroy – basically added at least 1 hour onto our already long journey…

Simon has done a spectacular job of burning himself again in the 2 hours of “moderate” sun this morning on the beach – dumbass !!! Front, back, arms AND legs – possibly the best job he has done yet…

It has been a really good weekend, and it all ends right here of course.

Photos should now display below:  (they are also available in http://www.forkhall.com/forkhallphotos/)

Fess Parkers Resort in Santa Barbara

We made it down to sunny Santa Barbara yesterday afternoon in about 3.5 hours, although that included a 1 hour stop in Solvang – a really pretty Danish styled town dating back to 1911.

The actual shopping area of Santa Barbara is really nice, kind of like Los Gatos but 10 times bigger. We failed to find mummy some new sunglasses but succeeded in persuading Olly to get 40 winks in the pushchair 🙂

We then checked into the hotel – as we walked through the main entrance to the hotel Elliot just said “Yes, this is a nice hotel !” 🙂 He was not wrong, but then it is 3times the price of the hotel in Cambria from the previous night.

BOTH our cameras have got flat batteries now so photography has had to fail over to the iPhones sadly, so I guess we must have taken LOTS of photos.

Dinner last night was very nice at the Harbor Inn (think that it’s name) on the Santa Barbara pier. Elliot just couldn’t figure out why their was buildings made over the sea …

Olly has successfully been hard work at every meal time so far excepting the McDonalds in the car at lunch yesterday – little monkey 🙁

Last night we got the boys into bed and sat out on the little patio with a bottle of red wine and some Trader Joes kettle corn – think We’ve mentioned the corn before – v moreish… 🙂 Great end to a lovely day (meal time excepted)

Today looks to be a day on the beach 🙂

Cambria Pines Lodge

We got a little over half way and stopped for an overnight stay.  Route 1 down the California coast is a very picturesque drive – would be even better if the sun was shining the whole way.  It is however, a LLLOOOOOONNNNNNGGGG ass way 🙂

We have broken it’s back now however and stopped in a little town 140 miles North of Santa Barbara.

Can’t post any of the photos that we have taken yet however since the cameraman forgot the relevant cables 🙁

We have had a nice dinner in the hotel and are getting ready for sleep – however we have just popped the room TV on and YES  “the Rock” is on…. Get in.
