We went out Trick or Treating in Los Gatos tonight – the boys costumes were….
“Mickey” got literally hundreds (not kidding on the number – see later for details of why this is not an exaggeration) of comments as we walked the streets in Los Gatos – he loved being somewhat the center of attention and just wanted to run around in amongst it all :-).
We went with the Folks, and have been absolutely AMAZEAs by not only the amount of work that most of the residents in the streets that we visited had put in to decorate their homes for the night, but also the sheer number of people who visited. We estimate that there were possibly more than 10,000 people out and about. Kind of beats the 30 or 40 that we see when Trick or Treating on Turner Close etc….
T a ridiculous example, there were two or three houses that actually had their own OUTDOOR DJ’s sorting out the tunes for the people who were visiting !!!
This was genuinely something that you had to see to believe and unfortunately our photographs do not so it justice – it was dark after all.
Clare – while we were out tonight, V was thinking of you…
We will have photo graphs from the Trick or Treating later 🙂
We head out to Half Moon Bay this morning to go to Pastorino’s Pumpkin Patch – it rained a little but we still really enjoyed the couple of hours.
Rain called off play in the end, but we still ended up with two pumpkins – or Po as Olly calls them 🙂
Vicky has worked for over 4 hours this afternoon carving the little fellas (the po’s, not the kids…) and take a look at her work – how cool are these?
Tomorrow is the big night and Elly has begun to state that he does not want to wear his Buzz costume – typical – 6 weeks of wanting it on every day, and now that the time is here, he is not interested in it.
On slightly less exciting news, we have bought a new TV today (46inch version of the one we already have) and relegated the previous model into the lounge area, and the lounge TV to a bedroom. While Simon wanted a 3D TV, he relented that a $700 purchase was a smarter use of cash.
The Californian Rusts wish you a very happy day
Another weekend, and Olly is finally on the mend 🙂
We are opting for a day in today – it rained yesterday AND today – outrageous.
It certainly seems to be cooling down here in the Bay area now – with he temperature this week rarely breaking above 22 degrees C, and rain on a couple of occasions.
That will be the end of the Rust’s bragging then 🙂
Check out this photo…..
Pembo in solitary confinement on the rock 🙂
Granddad has been here for two whole weeks – suspect he will sleep well on his light home. Elly and Olly have run him ragged 🙂
Granddad – we have had a great time finding pumpkins – thanks for coming – we love you xx
Granddad and Daddy managed to get to Alcatraz on Monday – a real experience – if you are ever in San Francisco, then you really should try to get onto the island for the tour – you will not regret it. When we get the photos sorted, we will post them up here for all to see.
Yesterday afternoon he started, and he would not sleep solo last night. Olly’s temperature hit just over 39 degrees at midnight, and while it was subsequently controlled, it has fluctuated significantly today.
We ended up taking him to the paediatrician just for safety sake. The news is positive – he does not have one of the nasty bugs that are seemingly going around at present, and while his throat was a little red and tender, it is nothing for concern.
We learned however, that we can drug him up some more and it is safe to do so – great – armed with this knowledge, we should be set for the next 24 hours as we know that an increased supply of the calpol etc will control it, but we had previously thought that that increased supply was not good.
Hopefully he will be all clear of this issue tomorrow and we can enjoy the carnival 🙂
